Everyone is drooling over the new 4K TVs capable of showing ultra-high resolution programming which are on display at this week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Netflix, Amazon and YouTube will all offer 4K streaming in the future. Vizio just unveiled a 50-inch 4K TV that will sell for the relatively low price of $999. All signs point to this technology jumping from the show room to the living room. The only problem? Americans might need to get rid of their VCRs first.
Yes, the majority of Americans still own a VCR, according to a Gallup poll released during CES. In fact, at 58 percent, more Americans own a VCR than own a desktop computer (57 percent) or tablet (38 percent).
I am trying to keep up with technology best I can...digital camera, 39" HDTV, smart phone, blue ray player, flat screen monitor for my computer tower....but yet I still have some of the old technology here about...All still works...and have a bunch of VHS tapes I have yet to catch up watching...Just ordered an adapter for the VHS player to adapt to the HDMI cable so I can watch on my big TV...Even though I still have my old computer tower which is 8 years old...I have purchased a touch screen laptop...which I am struggling to get used to...I won't be left behind...LOL...But yet I still hold on to the older technology...How about you??
I won't give up the PC tower just yet...still more comfortable to sit in front of and use, rather than craning my neck over the laptop...what will 10 years from now bring us as far as technology is concerned...Are you upgrading to the new technology??? or holding on the the old, as long as you can?
