I agree regarding the white balance, however the noise level on the camera phone is close to unacceptable.

I don't care how much they tout the cameras in the phones, I can always tell what is taken with one. They just don't seem to measure up. I have a tablet with a 5 MPX camera and basically choose to not deal with it in lieu of a real camera.

Most people can probably tell what is a phone pic versus a proper camera pic. but I think we're talkin about when the photo was taken to be a realistic, true to life kind of photo. On the other hand, some expert phone camera guys can make those 'artsy' photos with blur and tints and fancy filter affects that can really impress the viewer. (well impress me anyway) The thing is those people that can make their phone cameras dance so to speak have put in a lot of practice with them. Not to mention that they also have a huge amount of talent both for shooting and for post processing. Those tablet sure are getting popular. I haven't got one mind you but they look nice.

The latest things are the phablets (large phones/tablets). Nokia put one out and I think Samsung do as well. Too big for me. We could take a picture with our iPads but that looks so stupid. Nokia have the 44 megapixel phone that will blow you mind with the detail it retains. You take a shot of a bug on a shrub and then you crop and crop and crop until you can see the hairs on the insect. There's no way you would be able to tell it was taken with a phone. Increasingly phones are becoming the "go-to" cameras since people have them in their pockets. I've used mine as well and gotten some fairly decent images (with the proper light, of course).

I was at an airshow some time back and people were takeing photos with tablets - it looks totally ridiculous. The sensors are smaller, so photos won't be the same. Although you can get some arty photos with some settings. Pixie uses Snapseed - she love splaying with that for processing.
