I like the contrast in the second one. The scene is so different from what we see around here. I think photography makes the world a bit smaller; what you see, I see. That's why I look and wonder at the photos of others ... they make me realize that the world is not just my own little circle ...there are places and things that I may never see otherwise ... I'm rambling ... I like your photo!

I agree with oddcat. The high contrast makes the scene pop. It has a sort of strange quality that I really like. And everything oddcat expressed, I second. Good stuff.
