Nice shots. I really liked the ice covered pine. well that green frozen needle pic did have a nice look to it... there was just an ever so slight amount of light filtering through the branches above that poked it way through the ice. (but it was much prettier in real, the photo didn't really catch the glinting glimmer of the real deal) I bet you got out today and did some Don style shooting.

Pretty and yet NOT pretty. I know Niagara was hit hard too. Did it melt or is it still there? I read that many are without power. What is your status?

Hope your power and internet have been restored (well... the internet part). Stay warm, Charlie. And Merry Christmas.

I love the blue, Charlie. There's something magical about that light.

I love the blue, Charlie. There's something magical about that light. it did work good in this shot... the air was super crisp and clear... my camera fingers were stinging with the cold. The sharp air brought tears to my eyes.

Merry Christmas! Is that you on a timer? Reminds me of Eugene Smith's famous shot.
(this site is painfully s-l-o-w)

And the set up reminded me of those two kids too. Here's another frame of a fellow photog who was out freezing her fingers off too. Same pic but different. (the site is slow for me too... even typing is slower than me)

The black and white treatment is really the best (short of making it blue to add to the idea of cold). Looks like a fair amount of damage was done. Hope the storm has finally left the area. I won't tell you about our current weather other than to say... it ain't snowing or raining or cold. Sorry bout that.

Boy, a lot of people got hit by this storm. Ice is probably the worst thing that can hit. Nice pictures Charlie. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas.
